Recaro ProSport Car Seat Review

I kinda have this "thing" for baby/kid gear (like strollers, car seats, carriers, etc....). And if you are anything like me, when it's time for to purchase one of these items, you go all out researching for the perfect one. Fit, style, color, functionality, practicality, usability.....the list can go on and on.

So when I was sent the Recaro ProSPORT Car Seat, you can be sure I checked, and rechecked and made sure that every single detail that I require in a Car Seat for my child was met before I even took it out of the box.

And I can be totally honest when I say, this seat exceeded my expectations on so many levels!

This seat is considered a Combination Harness to Booster Seat, which means it can and does grow with your child. In Harness Mode the seat fits 20-90 pounds and 27-50 inches tall. In Booster Mode, it fits a wide range from 30-120 pounds, and 37 to 59 inches tall. And with a child like Lily, I have to be very particular about the car seat's she sits in due to her only being 2 years old but weighing 40 pounds. She is just plain not average (it's okay, in a good way ;-) ), so the average car seat on the market isn't practical for us. But THIS seat, certainly fits the bill, and she won't be outgrowing that maximum 90 pounds Harness Mode any time soon! And when it is time for her to move on to the booster mode, she will be able to STILL use it, just by sliding the car seat belt through the side belt slot.
Safety
When it comes to safety and the Recaro ProSPORT, it comes with Side Impact Protection; something not all car seats can say they have, or at least at the level of the ProSPORT. It is designed to distinctly protect 5 vulnerable areas of a child in a side impact collision - head, neck, face, torso, and pelvis.  Did you know that according the the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) approximately 40% of child fatalities to those seated in the rear passenger seat of a vehicle birth to 8 years old occur in side impact collisions? That is why RECARO tests its child seats to the stringent global standards for "Side Impact Protection". I LOVE how I can visually look at this seat and feel like Lily is far more protected than some of the other seats we have used in the past. With the major head protection on this seat, I feel so much more comfortable knowing that she would be secure and safe in the unfortunate event that we were in an accident.

The Recaro ProSPORT has been safety tested and approved through the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Child restraint Systems, the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for Flammability of Interior Materials and tested and passed through the most recognized Automotive Testing Organization in Europe for Side Impact Protection Testing.

Quality
This seat is sturdy and 110% quality. They thought of EVERYTHING you could ever need and want in a seat for your child. The LATCH system on this seat is so much more convenient than on any other seat I have used for my kids in the past. If you have EVER installed a car seat, you know how big of a pain it is to get those LATCH's clipped on just right. Squeezing your hand inside the seat cushions and barely being able to find them. So annoying. But with Recaro's premium push button LATCH system, it's a breeze! You push the LATCH into the area the LATCH is at, and it practically finds it all by itself. You here the SNAP, and your good to go. Give it a HUGE tug to make sure it's tight, and you're set!
Variety
The ProSPORT comes in a variety of color choices; Misty-Microseude (a smooth combo of gray tones), Midnight-Microfiber (dark solid black), Blue Opal-Soft Poly (combo of black, gray and blue), Hanna (tones of brown and a vibrant pink), and Envy (tones of brown and a cool pale lime green). We of course, chose the Hanna for Lily and are hoping to get the Envy for Jonah as soon as possible. He is so jealous of her new seat!

Hi there, I found your image doing a search on Recaro child safety seats I designed for my "press release" section.

What a treat to see a happy child sitting in the Recaro Hanna seat I designed! Your girl Lily is beautiful, and I am thrilled you liked the seat so much. I designed the color and textiles/tirm for the Recaro Envy collection as well...and I hope you can get it for your boy ( :
