we took lily to indy and came back with good news

It's been a hectic month.

Not that you would know, since I haven't blogged in about that time.

But don't get me wrong. I try to blog. I really do. Yet I can never finish a post, something always pulls me away. Be it the 2.5 year old, wanting a popsicle (which is all the time), the 6 month old wanting to be held (which too, is all the time), or dishes needing washed or laundry needing folded. Okay, so these are all very common and time consuming things that go on around here.

Today turned out to be a good day.

Lily got a pretty bad urinary tract infection about a month ago. E. Coli bacteria, 103.8 fever, frequent crying...the works. After medications and exams, we were sent to get some test done on Lily at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

To make a long story short, she needs to be re-tested when she is 2 and needs to be on a low-dose preventative antibiotic until she outgrows the Grade 2 Vesicoureteral reflux she has. We have to be careful with fevers, dehydration, and constipation, all signs and symptoms that can have something to do with the urine and possible further infections.

We are grateful that it isn't any worse, because it truly could have been. We are lucky. Lily is lucky. And I can't thank everyone enough for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers while we went through all of this. It meant so much to us to have so many people on our side. So, thank you.

So glad you got good news! I had reflux as a kid and was on a daily antibiotic for a long time. Have you looked into using probiotics as well?

Oh that sounds so rough. Glad it was "just" that, but I know that had to be rough.
