coverPlug Review/Giveaway

Before I gave birth to Jonah, and I mean like from the moment we moved into our house (which was only 4 weeks before my due date, I began baby proofing. I wanted to make sure that this place was all prepared and ready for the new little guy that would soon run this house. Now, it may have been a bit of the nesting stage I was in, or it could have had to do with the fact that I am a total “over-preparer”, but hey, even though the boy was unable to move for a number of months, I knew the moment he was on the move, the house was already ready for the wrath of a rambunctious toddler.

I must say, the worst part of the whole baby-proofing was the plug covers. You know what I’m talking about, those plastic covers that go in the electrical outlets to keep the curious little one from sticking anything remotely dangerous inside of them. But what they don’t tell you, is how utterly difficult it is to remove them, as an adult; on the slight chance that you might need to plug is a vacuum or an oscillating fan or anything that actually requires power.

I guess the creators of coverPlug’s were frustrated by the same things I was, because they came up with this practical and ingenious little thing that has made life just a little bit easier around my house. Seriously, I can’t believe someone hasn’t come up with this sooner. The simplistic design of the coverPlug makes it easy to use, by just popping it onto the outlet plate, and it is held in by the plastic prongs that go in to the ground openings. It covers the entire plate and blends in with the wall to make it utterly un-noticeable. And the fact that you can paint it to match the wall colors makes it even more attractive.

But to me, the most attractive part of it all is the safety. My toddler was completely unable to remove it from the outlet, and that is what sold me! Because at the end of the day, my house can be in shambles, but as long as it is safe and secure for my family, then that is all that matters!

I don't use them that much anymore, but when my children were toddling I liked those plastic holders that kept them from opening the cabinet doors-especially under the sink where all my cleaning stuff was!

Those are great! Outlet covers are definitely the most important safety items in our house right now, as I have a toddler who wants to plug things in all the time!
