Shopping Very Carefully

I never knew having a child would be so expensive.

Now, don't get me wrong, I definitely knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I have a kid who eats like a champ (i know, that's a good thing!) and grows like a weed (...but please don't call him "husky"...lol). So he is constantly growing out of his clothes, and I feel like I am at Sam's Club or Babies R Us at least once a week buying him food and diapers.

But you know what? It's Christmas! And I know I have already bought him too much, but I must say, I have gotten some pretty sweet deals. Mama LOOKS for sales!

Here's the breakdown:

1. Butterfly Kisses in Valpo was having an amazing sale! Buy one, Get one free on all toys (except Plan Toys...which was okay with me because it seems like Plan Toys are a bit too advanced for my Jonah, but are pretty darn cool anyway!). Anyhow, I got Jonah the Melissa and Doug First Vehicles Set and the Melissa and Doug Unit Blocks of Wheels. I could have bought TONS more, but I held back, because truthfully we can't afford it. I walked out of Butterfly Kisses with 2 toys for only $25.00! Now I call that a bargain!

2. I also ordered him 3 of the Anamalz and two pairs of BabyLegs (finally, huh?!?!) from Urban Baby Runway a few days ago.

3. We also went a little crazy at KB Toys today! I had a $65.00 voucher for all Fisher Price items because a travel sing by Fisher Price that we had was recalled. So they sent us a check for the amount of the swing. And since KB was having a 30% off EVERYTHING IN THE STORE, we hit it up. We bought $70.44 worth of toys, and only paid out $5.44. How sweet is that?!?!

And then after a long game of Scrabble with the family, we are home. Me with my cup of hot chocolate, typing away, and feeling super sleepy. Tomorrow will be fun! Another day with the ladies. Then Thanksgiving all over again at my Dad's house!

Now, off to finish my hot chocolate and pay some bills, then to take a bath, and then knit in bed until I fall asleep. Yes, I said knit. I picked up on the hobby on Thanksgiving from my sis-in-law, jeannette. I am by no means any good, but it is fun to do something an see some progress from right off the bat. And also, when it comes to knitting you MUST check out Steph's knitting blog and take a look at some of her bags, they are so fun! I think I might ask her to make me an evergreen colored one for the holidays! Hm.

Later gator.

p.s. Check me out over at Mama Speaks. My second Feature was posted a few days ago! You'll also want to make sure you take a look at the Mama Speaks Holiday Gift Guide as well. Tons of gift ideas for EVERYONE on your list! Not to mention a slew of amazing giveaways!
