Review/Giveaway ~ Glow Mama

Congratulations to Purplemommi, the winner of the one week sampler of Glow Mama!

I have a horrible memory, really…I can’t remember a darn thing. So needless to say, when it comes to remembering to take my prenatal vitamins, I am not taking them very much. Good thing fellow mama, Lucy had decided to create a refreshing little drink called Glow Mama, because even though it is not a replacement for my vitamins, it is better than consuming nothing healthy at all throughout my day. Maybe part of my problem is the only things I want to eat are McDonald’s French fries, not necessarily the healthiest choice for a pregnant lady.

Glow Mama is a drink specifically made for pregnant and nursing mama’s, to keep them healthy and hydrated, while being able to drink a beverage that makes them feel special and make them look positively “glowing”. And that’s just about what I felt after I took my first sip of Glow Mama. Now, currently the only flavor Glow Mama comes in is Kiwi , and personally, I would love to see a few more flavor options available. Then again, it might be just my funky pregnancy taste buds playing tricks on me, but the kiwi was a little too potent for me. I did mix it up a bit with some 7-up, and I seriously felt as though I was drinking a fancy wine spritzer. And if you know me, wine has been one of my cravings ever since the conception of this little bundle, so it definitely satisfied my hankering for an “adult drink”.
Glow Mama offers up a few different package deals for your tasting pleasure, whether they are for your own enjoyment or you know a mama who you think would love it, you are bound to find one suited to fit your needs. And with shipping being a flat $5, no matter how much you order, stock up! These would be the perfect, unique holiday gift or stocking stuffer, so go here and see what you can find!

coverPlug Review/Giveaway

Before I gave birth to Jonah, and I mean like from the moment we moved into our house (which was only 4 weeks before my due date, I began baby proofing. I wanted to make sure that this place was all prepared and ready for the new little guy that would soon run this house. Now, it may have been a bit of the nesting stage I was in, or it could have had to do with the fact that I am a total “over-preparer”, but hey, even though the boy was unable to move for a number of months, I knew the moment he was on the move, the house was already ready for the wrath of a rambunctious toddler.

I must say, the worst part of the whole baby-proofing was the plug covers. You know what I’m talking about, those plastic covers that go in the electrical outlets to keep the curious little one from sticking anything remotely dangerous inside of them. But what they don’t tell you, is how utterly difficult it is to remove them, as an adult; on the slight chance that you might need to plug is a vacuum or an oscillating fan or anything that actually requires power.

I guess the creators of coverPlug’s were frustrated by the same things I was, because they came up with this practical and ingenious little thing that has made life just a little bit easier around my house. Seriously, I can’t believe someone hasn’t come up with this sooner. The simplistic design of the coverPlug makes it easy to use, by just popping it onto the outlet plate, and it is held in by the plastic prongs that go in to the ground openings. It covers the entire plate and blends in with the wall to make it utterly un-noticeable. And the fact that you can paint it to match the wall colors makes it even more attractive.

But to me, the most attractive part of it all is the safety. My toddler was completely unable to remove it from the outlet, and that is what sold me! Because at the end of the day, my house can be in shambles, but as long as it is safe and secure for my family, then that is all that matters!

WIN IT!
Wanna get yourself a few of these coverPlugs to protect the little ones in your house too? Just leave me a comment on this post telling me what the most important safety product is in your house? Is it outlet covers? Doorknob covers? You tell me! I will pick one winner at random to receive 3 coverPlug’s of their very own!

Etsy Spotlight/Giveaway ~ Wren Willow

The Winner of the $25 Gift Certificate to the fantastic shop Wren Willow is EllyBean! I will be contacting you shortly. Congratulations and I am sure you will enjoy whatever item you choose from the shop!!

It wasn’t too long ago that we found out we were having a little girl. A slew of emotions flew through my mind, landing on mainly that I don’t have any clue what to do with a little girl. I have a son and have grown to know more about trucks and dinosaurs than I do about politics and the economy (what I went to college for). So knowing that in a few months, I will be dealing with ribbons and bows freaks me out, to say the least.

Thanks goodness there is a cute little Etsy shop out there like Wren Willow, my newest obsession, to say the least. With hand-drawn, hand-painted, and hand-dyed hip and colorful tees and onesies, I haven’t been able to stop drooling over each and every new piece this exceptional little shop has to offer. The colors are so rich and vibrant, and the items are SO unique, that your kid will look like even more of an individual than he or she already is.

You won’t find and ribbons and bows here either, and in all honesty, I couldn’t be happier. Knowing that Lily is going to be dressed in a 100%, one of a kind piece of clothing, I just can’t contain myself. Sure there are a few pink items to choose from, but with options like the Winter Tree and the Bright Spring Green Peacock, any color she wears will make her look stunning.

Yes, of course, I also have a little boy who I have not forgotten. And he looks just as endearing in his Tye-Dye Tortise Tee as could be, but I am also ogling over the Peace Loving Robot and the Classic Car Tee as well. My guess is, a few of these amazing pieces of work are going to make their way under our Christmas tree this year, the problem is…will Santa be addressing them to ME or to my little ones?!

At Wren Willow, there is an amazing assortment and variety of pieces to choose from, even with the option to get pieces custom made in a different size, in case you are in love with a print, but it just won’t fit. So mosey on over and check out the shop, you will not be disappointed. And if you are trying to find that perfect gift for a new mom (or mom-to-be), this shop will give you something special to give. But hey, if you just wanna spoil your own little ones at home, that’s okay too.

WIN IT!

Marla over at Wren Willow wanted to make sure that one of my very lucky readers got a chance to get their hands on their very own unique piece of wearable art and is offering up a $25 gift certificate to a random Mommy Instincts winner! All you have to do is check out Wren Willow, and come back here and let me know what you would spend your $25 on.

From our growing family to yours,

All of your entries were awesome, it was tough to pick just one! Thanks for entering!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

After finding out that we are having a baby girl only TWO days ago, I have already begun to think about how we will introduce her to the world when that magical day arrives. No doubt there will be pictures, phone calls, emails, and tweets being sent through all sources of communication imaginable, but nothing can replace the good old fashioned birth announcements. And I'm not talking about the tiny blurb in the newspaper, or even the traditional hospital photo they snap of your minute old newborn.

I am talking about doing it in style, and this is where Tiny Prints comes in. Along with my trusty camera and the nice peeps over at Tiny Prints, we will create the most amazingly adorable birth announcements known to man, no kidding. With the nearly 200 Baby Girl Announcements they carry, I knew I would have a super hard time narrowing it down to just one. Luckily, I have a good 5 months or so to decide...not so sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing! ;-)

And not only do they carry birth announcements, but you can also get Invitations, Birthday and Holiday Cards, and Personalized Stationary. There is seriously something for everyone. The thing is, there are SO MANY awesome things to choose from, how is it possible to pick?!

******************************************************
Well, you better get to picking, because Tiny Prints is offering one Mommy Instincts Reader their very own Holiday Card Package (50 of the selected card, 72 address labels, including 60 matching postage stamps!
