Chiquita crushed fruit snack products #CrushedIt

We are a pretty busy family these days (and its summertime!!), my part-time job, my husband commuting 1.5 hours ONE WAY for his job daily, extra curricular's for the kids, playdates, and getting ready to sell our home and move closer to my husbands job all take up nearly 24 hours of our day. So I have taken to attempting more convenient shortcuts if and whenever possible. When it comes to food, this means pre-packaged foods, snacks and drinks, and ready-made meals. Some times this means a healthier alternative, but most of the time, it doesn't.

You'll often see me drinking a coffee in the morning, or a caffeinated pop in the afternoons. And when the kids are napping, I admit it, a handful of chocolate chip cookies sounds WAY better than an apple, any day.

And the kids most certainly want fruit snacks, cookies, marshmallows, candy, and other sweets that aren't good for them. I'll be honest, I often give in, but have recently come to the realization that something needs to change. We need to eat healthier and get more exercise. And it's summertime, so this is a great time to do it!

I was recently given the opportunity to try out the Chiquita crushed fruit snack products. I'll  be honest, when I first heard the name, I was a little confused. And when I saw that the product came in "a bottle" and was to be found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, I was even MORE confused. But once I opened the bottle and took a sip, I figured it all out. It is like they "crushed" up the fruit and put in a bottle! A nice, thick, flavorful crushed fruit snack!

I was also asked to "swap my snacks" for a few days ("not-so-great" snacks for "good" ones):

not-so-great snacks (fruit snacks, chocolate chip cookies, & marshmallows)

much better snacks (strawberries, apples, grapes, fruit strips, raisins, banana chips, & Chiquita crushed fruit snack products)
Getting Lily to change her ways when it comes to eating is a challenge, so I take what I can get from her. She avoids fresh fruit like the plague, so I often have to disguise it or just do my best. She will eat the banana chips and fruit strips, but nothing else in this picture. Jonah on the other hand LOVES fruits, so getting him to eat anything here is pretty simple. Such opposites! I felt good seeing Lily even accepting ONE swapped out snack! One is better than none, right?

I also took some goodies along to a play date we recently had. The Chiquita crushed fruit snack products were a hit. The ladies commented on how flavorful and delicious they were and how they could totally replace a snack!  The kids were crazy for the Chiquita banana's I brought along, too!

I also created a This Moment slideshow, featuring our trip to Dominick's and purchasing our Chiquita crushed fruit snack products! We had so much fun adventuring to the city for our shopping trip!

Have you ever tried the Chiquita crushed fruit snack products? If so, what is your favorite flavor?
