B Kind 2 Earth Day

It isn't a secret that we, as a whole, need to do things (big things, little things.....) every day to make a difference to our Mother Earth. And myself, being a Mom of two little ones, I love finding ways to involve them in my efforts to make the Earth a longer-lasting and more beautiful place, for us today, for them tomorrow, and their own children in the future.

I am teaming up with my BFF's over at The Motherhood and have dedicated myself to being a State Leader here in my home state on Indiana. And you can join in too! Visit the B Kind 2 Earth Day Facebook page, and LIKE it! Our goal is to get 75 people in EACH state to LIKE and promise to do at least one good deed on Earth Day to help preserve and maintain our planet. It's as simple as that!

And since Earth Day is this Friday, April 22, 2011, I have decided to share with you a few of the things my family and I do on a regular and mostly daily basis to do our share. Every small action counts!

1. We use reusable towels as much as possible. It takes a long time to go through just ONE roll of paper towel in our house!
2. We use otherwise throw items for craft projects. Puzzles out of cereal boxes, cardboard bugs out of egg cartons, and make-believe TV's out of large boxes.
3. I use dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. It reduces the amount of time needed to dry as well as keeps those nasty dryer sheets out of our house.
4. We frequent the Goodwill Store, to buy "new-to-us" items, as well as donate/recycle items we no longer use.
5. We walk to the grocery store (those double seater Radio Flyer wagons are awesome for this!)

What kinds of things do you do on a daily basis to help reduce YOUR carbon footprint? Do you have any special plans for Earth Day?

Come back on Friday for more ways on how our family does our part as well as to learn more about the B Kind 2 Earth Day initiative!

Let's show to our mother nature that we love them. We are the ones who will benefit from taking care of our environment and we are also the who will suffer in the future if we dont.
