Review/Giveaway ~ Glow Mama

Congratulations to Purplemommi, the winner of the one week sampler of Glow Mama!

I have a horrible memory, really…I can’t remember a darn thing. So needless to say, when it comes to remembering to take my prenatal vitamins, I am not taking them very much. Good thing fellow mama, Lucy had decided to create a refreshing little drink called Glow Mama, because even though it is not a replacement for my vitamins, it is better than consuming nothing healthy at all throughout my day. Maybe part of my problem is the only things I want to eat are McDonald’s French fries, not necessarily the healthiest choice for a pregnant lady.

Glow Mama is a drink specifically made for pregnant and nursing mama’s, to keep them healthy and hydrated, while being able to drink a beverage that makes them feel special and make them look positively “glowing”. And that’s just about what I felt after I took my first sip of Glow Mama. Now, currently the only flavor Glow Mama comes in is Kiwi , and personally, I would love to see a few more flavor options available. Then again, it might be just my funky pregnancy taste buds playing tricks on me, but the kiwi was a little too potent for me. I did mix it up a bit with some 7-up, and I seriously felt as though I was drinking a fancy wine spritzer. And if you know me, wine has been one of my cravings ever since the conception of this little bundle, so it definitely satisfied my hankering for an “adult drink”.
Glow Mama offers up a few different package deals for your tasting pleasure, whether they are for your own enjoyment or you know a mama who you think would love it, you are bound to find one suited to fit your needs. And with shipping being a flat $5, no matter how much you order, stock up! These would be the perfect, unique holiday gift or stocking stuffer, so go here and see what you can find!

Lots of protein and water! I always drank 64oz of water a day, plus tried to snack on foods that were high in protein, like eggs and cheese.

My pregnancy craving was fruit, so staying healthy wasn't too hard for me. I was actually more healthy pregnant than not pregnant; I gained 15 pounds with Asher, but was down almost 50 pounds by my second week post-partum!

I definitely want to keep doing yoga when I get pregnant. It not only feels good for my body, it helps my emotional state too, and I imagine that when I'm expecting it will do the same.

I kept doing yoga throughout my pregnancy. The biggest tip was... be kind to yourself - whatever that means to you.

I took a prenatal vitamin and extra Iron and I also stayed away from processed food. I walked each night until I was due and it wasn't too hard to get back into shape.

I always try to stay healthy. When I was pregnant I was very cautious about what I ate and what I put into my body. Now that I am nursing I am super careful about what goes into both mine and my son's body. I am the only mama among my friends with babies who will not just eat anything and give my baby table foods too early. They tease me about it but I want the best for my little angel. Also I am working out at least 3 times per week. I am so happy to have found this blog and I am dying to try "Glow Mama"
Thank you!

I wish I had tried a little harder. I gained over 80 pounds with each pregnancy. My tip to others is to SERIOUSLY watch what you eat.

While I was pregnant I had a lot of complications so I did as much as I could to fight them off and stay healthy. I'm nursing still and this sounds amazing. One thing I did was to meditate once a day because I noticed that when I was well rested I felt better!

Lots of rest towards the end of my pregnacy was exactaly what I needed it to be ready for the lack of sleep when my daughter came.

Definitely take care of yourself both physically and mentally because both your body and your mind needs to be ready for all the comes with a newborn! Therefore, eat well and drink lots of water and take time for yourself because once the baby comes you're not going to get any.

Thanks!

Stay hydrated, take your vitamins with food and listen to your body.

I might have to try this! I can't ever remember to take my pre-natals. I'm a nursing mamma and had every intention of still taking those vitamins. *sigh* I like the idea of mixing it with something fizzy...yumm...
