It all starts tonight...

Tonight I got my first taste of what the whole world of CSM (Countryside Student Ministries) is like at my wonderfully amazing Church Home, Countryside. Since assuming the responsibilities as "Events Director" for CSM, I have only been able to allow thoughts of what's-to-come consume my mind since I haven't really found out what I am supposed to be doing just yet. Josh gave me a bit of a breakdown of what this position entails (planning, organizing, making any all all events involving CSM run more smoothly) and informed me that a lot of research will be required. Well, it just so happens that I LOVE research, and if it is something I am passionate about, heck...better yet.

Yet tonight went a lot differently than I had expected. It was a lot more impact-ful that I ever thought it would be. I assumed it was just 2 hours worth of talking with the kids about whatever topic we were covering. But it was like an actual mini-church service, I loved it! There was singing, Josh talked, more singing, then small group time. And did I mention that these kids are amazing? They really are into all of this. After working at the DQ for so long, I really thought most kids were rude and mean and disrespectful. I was so wrong. And I am so glad I have become a part of such an amazing program. I am looking forward to being more involved and learning more and more about CSM and 936 and getting to know these people and kids that make it all possible.
